The Cameroon Design Festival (CDF) was created to celebrate African Design and Designers daily while propelling the visibility, growth, and influence of designers and design-led innovation in Cameroon, across Africa, and throughout the global design community.
Everything we interact with daily started with design. Someone saw the possibility and designed it for consumption and pleasure. We believe design is not just aesthetics, but a way of thinking, solving problems, expressing culture, improving lives, creating economic opportunities, and building a future.
CDF exists to celebrate the people behind the great work and build an ecosystem where designers can be seen, connected, supported, and empowered.
More than an annual festival, CDF is a platform that documents design, strengthens professional practice, encourages collaboration, and inspires a deeper appreciation for the role of design in society.
Every nation has artists who tell its stories, entrepreneurs who build its economy, and innovators who imagine its future.
Designers are all three.
Yet despite the extraordinary talent found across Cameroon and the African continent, many designers continue to work with limited visibility, fragmented professional networks, and few platforms dedicated to celebrating their contributions.
Today, that is beginning to change.
Across Africa, there is a growing reconnection to the power of design and design thinking. Design weeks, festivals, and creative platforms are emerging, signaling a collective realization that design is not decoration, but a strategic tool for development, identity, and economic growth.

Often described as “Africa in Miniature,” Cameroon embodies the continent’s geological, cultural, and ecological diversity. Known also as the “Hinge of Africa,” the country stands between West and Central Africa, bridging regions, histories, and perspectives. This positioning makes Cameroon a natural meeting point for ideas, talent, and creative exchange.
The Cameroon Design Festival offers an experiential and collaborative platform that showcases design across sectors, from graphic and brand design to fashion, architecture, product, and digital design. Through exhibitions, conversations, and immersive experiences, CDF elevates design as an essential driver of economic growth, business innovation, and development.
At its core, CDF is about visibility, connection, and belief. Belief in designers, belief in ideas, and belief that design has a critical role to play in building Cameroon’s future and contributing to Africa’s advancement.
